Links to Politics & Gov't On-Line

The amount of info on the web is enormous, as anyone who's ever tried to run a search can attest to.  And, to put it all in context, best estimates say that only a fraction, maybe 20 - 40 % of what's out there is actually making its way to the search engines.
    Well  ...
Here at DownStreet, we'd like to try to help.  So each issue, we post a few links in Politics & Government to sites that might interest you.  Sometimes the links will be related to one another  ...  sometimes we'll just offer up a somewhat random sampling.  In either case, we think we might be able to help you find the kind of site you've been looking for.
Of course, while we can't vouch for the fact that every link we provide will be of interest to everyone, we do our best to filter out the noise and the bustle.  ...

Links to Info on Terrorism and the War to End It
If you haven't had the opportunity to do so yet, we invite you to take a look at DownStreet's

which we ran in response to the attacks of September 11th, in lieu of our originally planned first issue of Volume II, which was to mark the 1st anniversary of DownStreet on the web.  Given the particular importance of these events, our plan is to continue the Special Report as long as the War on Terrorism lasts, by adding new articles and including articles in this and up-coming issues of the magazine itself.

A large part of our initial work was devoted to research -- on topics and events that seemed especially critical, and on what resources were available on the internet that could help to shed some light on the many aspects of terrorism and the war that, in the early stages of our work, was then still only being mounted.  We worked hard.  And we will continue to do so.

This month's Links to Politics and Government On-Line, then,  may seem a little self-serving, since, instead of our usual links to other sites on the internet, we're pointing you to another part of our own site.  But once you get there, and we hope you will, you'll quickly see that, among the other things we've pulled together, there is an extensive list of links to the many internet sites we found that are worthwhile -- from government sites and think-tanks to sites for international and alternative news.  The current listing follows here, but we hope you'll look at the Special Report in its entirety.
