One of hundreds of 'street altars' -- collections of flowers, candles, notes and more -- scattered along the edge of the Red Zone.  ... 

Wall Street and Broadway, across from Trinity Church.  ...  This marked the current southeast corner of the Red Zone. 

Pedestrians pass beneath the banner announcing the coming re-opening of Trinity Church.  ...   

At the corner of Rector and Trinity looking north.  ...  The wreckage of 4 WTC {?} is slowly being dismantled and carted away.  ...

Three NYPD patrolmen coming out of the Red Zone.  ...  What remains of the South Tower looms above them.  ...

The remains of the South Tower beyond Washington & Rector.  ...

Lots of buildings sustained partial damage.  ...  Many, like this one, were draped with wire mesh to contain the falling debris.  ...

Hoppers filled with debris -- small pieces of concrete, many with re-bar fragments -- were scattered about the streets.  ...  This one is under an overpass near West Street.  ...
