    The amount of info on the web is enormous, as anyone who's ever tried to run a search can attest to.  And, to put it all in context, best estimates say that only a fraction, maybe 20 - 40 % of what's out there is actually making its way to the search engines. 
    Well  ...
    Here at DownStreet, we'd like to try to help.  So each issue, we post a few links in Food & Dining to sites that might interest you.  Sometimes the links will be related to one another  ...  sometimes we'll just offer up a somewhat random sampling.  In either case, we think we might be able to help you find the kind of site you've been looking for.
    Of course, while we can't vouch for the fact that every link we provide will be of interest to everyone, we do our best to filter out the noise and the bustle.  ...

Recipes with Maple {continued}

With the Maple Festival slated after we go to press, we thought we'd continue to run these links, which we first ran last month as part of our Maple Pages.  These Links to Food & Dining On-Line focus on recipes that use maple sap, syrup, or other maple products. Just like last month, we're going to forego our usual rating system.  The real point here is to try your hand at some of the recipes.  ...

So, without further ado, let us offer up these links to maple recipes on-line, the majority of which are from right here in  ... where else !?!  ... Vermont.  ...  The sites are listed in the order in which we found our mouths watering the most.  ...

    Rural, Vermont -- Chat about Food and Recipe Swap

    The Rural, Vermont, folks, from over in the Arlington/Dorset neighborhood, offer up two pages.  The first presents maple recipes from inns and restaurants over their way, including:  Baked Farm-Fresh Eggs in Vermont Maple Toast Nests from The Cornucopia, Bed & Breakfast Inn, in Dorset; Maple Decadence Bread Pudding from Barrows House Inn and Restaurant, also in Dorset; Maple Mousse from The Colonial Housein Weston; Creamy Squash/Maple Soup, plus Baked Apples, from Hill Farm Inn, in Arlington; and Maple Charlotte with Charlotte's Web, from Hemmingways Restaurant, also in Arlington.  ...  The Chat page is called In the Kitchen with Jigsy and Friends.  There, you can scan the list for maple recipes.  {While you're at it, you can also visit DownStreet's own Community Discussion web, where you can post recipes under our food category ... or just about anything else you'd like.}
