Earlier this month, viewers weighed in on their favorites. And while, needless to say, their choices were sometimes just a little different than what the boards of the Emmy Awards or the Golden Globes might pick. still ... Well. ... Among the winners? Martin Sheen took Favorite Actor in a New Series honors for his role as President Jed Bartlett in NBC's The West Wing. David James Elliott of JAG (CBS) took Favorite Actor in a Drama. Amy Brenneman of CBS's Judging Amy took Favorite Actress in a New Series; and Melina Kanakaredes nailed Favorite Actress in a Drama for her starring role in Providence (NBC). Of course, there were the obligatory awards for some of America's most popular shows, including Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (Favorite Game Show, ABC), the perennial Days of Our Lives (Favorite Soap Opera, NBC), and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Favorite Sci-Fi/ Fantasy Show, WB).
