Pyramid Scheme

Each month, DownStreet will offer up a puzzle to tease some of those unused brain cells out of hibernation.  Ready?

No one even tried last month's puzzle -- Where'd the Money Go?  Guess either it wasn't interesting enough ... or too tough.  So this month, we'll try something easier.  ...

This Month's Puzzle:  Pyramid Scheme

Just about everyone's familiar with how the pins at the bowling alley are arranged -- pyramid-style.  ...

Row 1:  1 pin
Row 2:  2 pins
Row 3:  3 pins
Row 4:  4 pins
Total:  10 pins

Simple, right?

Good.  ...

The question, then, is this:.  

The Question:  

Suppose the pins went 40 rows deep instead of 4?  How many pins would there be?  How about 100 rows deep?  How about 576 rows deep?

Think you know the answers?
