Each month, DownStreet will be conducting a Straw Poll to
get our readers' votes on issues of interest or importance. Not only that, but we'll be forwarding the results to our
elected reps. So, let your voice be heard ... This
Month's Straw Poll Question comes, of course, from the new session of the State
Legislature. ... Background: For

as well as to our Links to
Politics & Gov't On-Line, which, this month,
focuses on the State Legislature web site.
As we mentioned in the article, as of
January 17th, the House had already introduced more
than 80 Bills, and the Senate, nearly 20. And
there promises to be more where they came from.
So ...
That said, DownStreet is pleased to offer you the
opportunity to tell us and your reps where you think they ought to focus their
energies. ...

asking for a valid e-mail address. This is not to identify how particular
individuals voted, but to insure that no one tries to stuff the ballot
box. No e-mail addresses will be identified with particular votes.
We simply scan for valid e-mail addresses &
duplicates, eliminate the invalid & duplicates, then
tally the results. We also ask that you identify
your town of residence, since -- for better or for worse
-- our legislators probably want to know how many of the
votes were from their constituents.
NOTE: We do not accept entries for
the Monthly Straw Poll after it has run in the current
issue.
