The Book Worm:  Speaking of Books

'Tis the good reader that makes the good book ...
Emerson

We know you're out there.  ...  Who, you ask?

Why, those of you who steal away, whether to a soft chair or a quiet room, or the weekly or monthly meeting of your co-conspirators  ... all in the name of a good book.

Whether your a solitary reader, then, or a member of a local Book Club, DownStreet wants to hear from you.  Why?

Two reasons:

First, with the coming holiday season fast approaching, we thought we'd pick your brains for your selections for Best Books.  The result will not only be a Best Books list, but may, in fact, provide much-needed help for your hapless holiday shopping neighbor who's about to blunder in the choice of which book to buy for his or her avid reader.

Second, if you belong to a Book Club, whether it's open to new members, or you'd simply like to publish your meeting schedule in DownStreet, we're also inviting you to let us know.

A Bonus:  Moreover, any Best Book choices submitted by a Book Club as a whole will receive at least 10 votes, even if the Club is smaller.  {Listen.  It's hard enough to get people to agree about a book.  So when an entire Club can unanimously say 'Yea' to a single book, it deserves at least that much weight.}

Ready to weigh in, then?  ...

Good.

Don't be hesitant in light of the recent Presidential Elections.  We promise your vote will be counted, with no irregularities and an easy-to-use ballot.

Simply fill out the form below.  We'll publish the results in our next issue.

It's that simple.

Note: Our on-line form for reader surveys and similar in-put are only active while the issue is current.
